BarterBloom Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how BarterBloom collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you use our marketplace.
Information we collect
We may collect account information such as your name, display name, email address, password credentials in hashed form, account status, verification status, profile information, listings, photographs, offers, trades, messages, reviews, reports, saved listings, and other information you provide.
We may also collect technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, security logs, authentication activity, and information needed to prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access. If you provide location information, we may process location-related data to support features such as nearby listings and approximate distance calculations.
How we use information
We may use information to create and manage accounts, operate marketplace features, display listings, facilitate communication and trades, provide notifications, verify accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce platform rules, provide customer support, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and improve the service.
Information visible to other users
Other users may see information you intentionally make public, including your display name, profile information, listing descriptions, listing photographs, approximate location information, reviews, and other marketplace content. We do not intend to publicly display precise home addresses, private postal codes, or precise coordinates unless a specific feature requires disclosure and the user is clearly informed.
Sharing of information
We may share information with service providers that help operate the platform, such as hosting, database, object-storage, email-delivery, security, analytics, or other technical-service providers. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, enforce our agreements, prevent fraud, investigate abuse, or protect users or the platform.
We do not sell personal data merely because a user creates an BarterBloom account.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Certain information may be retained after account closure when legally or operationally necessary.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information, subject to legal and operational limitations. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under applicable law.
Children
BarterBloom is intended only for users age 18 and older. We do not knowingly permit children under 18 to create accounts.

We may update this Privacy Policy and will revise the effective date when we do.
